Farewell gathering for councilmen Park and Dovey

Outgoing Federal Way City Council members Mike Park and Jack Dovey will be honored with a reception at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at City Hall.
Park is stepping down after nearly 15 years of service on the council, including stints as Washington’s first Korean-American mayor in 2000 and 2006-07. Dovey first served on the council starting in 1995, and previously served as mayor in 2008-09.
The reception will include cake and light refreshments. Park will get another farewell at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7, when the Korean community meeting plans to honor him at the Federal Way Community Center. The public is invited. Food and light refreshments will be served.
