From staff reports:
A Federal Way High School gym class came to the aid of a jogger who collapsed on the school’s running track on Thursday.
The class was out using the track when the incident occurred. Upon seeing the jogger collapse, teacher Pat Adkins and two students, Jasmine Johnson and Christopher Harada, moved in to assist. One student dialed 911, while Adkins and the other student stayed with the jogger.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and transported the jogger to St. Francis Hospital.
Principal Lisa Griebel sent a letter home to parents on Thursday letting them know how proud she was of the students and the teacher.
“While we don’t know the condition of the jogger at this time, I can say with confidence that our teacher and students gave her a chance to survive and recover by acting quickly,” Griebel wrote. “Please let your student know I am proud of them.”
