Federal Way offers utility tax rebate

Federal Way is accepting applications for its utility tax rebate program from Jan. 1 through April 30.
The program offers a rebate to low-income senior citizens and disabled persons.
Applicants must live in Federal Way city limits. Income limits apply. A one-person household making under $30,000, a two-person household making less than $34,250, a three-person household making less than $38,550 and a four-person household making less than $42,800 annually qualify for the program.
A tax return, bank statements and customers' complete utility bills, which include gas, electricity, phone, garbage and television charges, are needed for documentation purposes.
Senior citizens must be 65 years or older, and disabled persons must provide proof of their disability in document form. Applications are available online at www.cityoffederalway.com or at City Hall, 33325 8th Ave. S. Completed applications are due by April 30 to City Hall. For more information, call (253) 835-2403.
