From staff reports: About 1:40 a.m. Dec. 10, a pedestrian was injured following a hit and run. The incident occurred in the 400 block of SW 312th Street. Federal Way police received a 911 call from a passerby who reported an injured male in the road. The 52-year-old Federal Way resident was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, including a significant head injury, reports said. He is expected to survive.

Federal Way police reconstructed the pedestrian-vehicle collision. The suspect was identified and police made contact. The suspect, a 24-year-old male from Federal Way, turned himself in at the Federal Way Police Department after confessing to the hit and run. The suspect was interviewed and released. The suspect and victim identification will be released upon filing of formal charges.
