Federal Way police seek shooter

According to Federal Way police, a man was shot about 2:30 a.m. Sunday while walking with two friends in the 31700 block of 21st Place SW in Federal Way. Asuspect allegedly stepped out of a residence and fired upon the group, said police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock. The victim, a male in his 20s, was shot in the ankle and knee. The victim and two friends sought shelter in a vacant home across the street until police arrived. Several neighbors called 911.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports. The shooter escaped in a light-colored Honda-type car, Schrock said. Federal Way police are investigating the case. Police interviewed occupants of the house where the suspect was reported to have left.
