Tourism Enhancement Grant available for Federal Way nonprofits

Nonprofits may now apply for the city’s Tourism Enhancement Grant.

The grant is designed to enhance tourism in Federal Way. Approximately $22,000 is available. Only nonprofits that plan, sponsor or host events, such as amateur sporting, arts/cultural, membership meetings, training and conference gatherings are eligible. The grant money can be used to secure, market, promote or advertise events. It cannot be used to cover entry fees, travel, salaries, material items, facility upgrades, capital campaigns or operating expenses.

In the spring grant cycle, the Federal Way Symphony, USSSA Men’s Softball championship tournament, CenterStage Theatre’s “Ain’t Misbehaving,” Sudden Impact Invitational Girls Fastpitch Tournament and the Twin Lakes Women’s Golf Tournament were awarded funded.
