Federal Way High School hosted the 2009 eighth annual Career and Technical Education and American Sign Language "Sign Off" Invitational.

The competition is an updated version of the traditional speech and debate tournament.

Over 70 students from nine different schools competed April 18 in the silent competition — there was no talking allowed. Students could either use sign language or write messages with pen and paper.
