They went, they learned and then they shared.

Ninth-graders at Lakota Junior High School reported on their career interests during a Career Day presentation Tuesday. The presentations followed job-shadow visits in which the students visited work sites and dicussed occupations with professionals.

Sian Fankhauser, a language arts teacher, coordinated the activities, which included Power Point presentations.

In addition to the career inquiries, the students looked into the courses they’ll need to take in high school and college to advance them on their career paths.

The project helped the students “start thinking early about what they want to do careerwise,” said Sandy Ashby, a parent and member of the organizing committee.
