Board salutes schools, supporters

Students, teachers, parents and other school workers, volunteers and community leaders were honored by the Federal Way School Board during a recognition ceremony Tuesday night at Illahee Junior High School.

Recipients were also treated to a performance by the award-winning Illahee Jazz Band, which played during a 30-minute pre-event reception.

Board member Don Putnam and Federal Way Public Schools superintendent Thomas Murphy then presented awards to approximately 100 community honors recipients. They included:
