Lakeland celebrates 50 years

Lakeland Elementary will celebrate its 50th anniversary this fall, and is seeking the help of its alumni to recount school history over the years.

As part of its celebration, the oldest elementary in the Federal Way school district is gathering stories and memorabilia from its past. The PTA History Committee wants to hear alums recall details of school traditions, popular games at recess, memorable teachers and staff, famous or interesting alums or reveal an anecdote.

Information, including art and photos from alums, may be included in a school history booklet, for display, on the school Web site or in other ways to be determined as plans for the anniversary progress.
