Jon Knight, a student at Todd Beamer High School, recently completed a Kelso’s Choices problem solving wheel for the playground at Mark Twain Elementary as part of his Eagle Scout project.

The sign helps students resolve conflicts and make choices.

Free swap meet slated for May 31

The Federal Way AmeriCorps team will host a free market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, May 31 at the Westway Community Center. Westway residents are invited to bring items from home that they no longer need and participate in a free swap meet.

Medical program

for students

Students who will complete the eighth grade this year are invited to participate in a free Health Adventures summer program at St. Francis Hospital.

The program introduces youths to a variety of career opportunities in health care through guided visits to different departments at St. Francis and activities.

The Health Adventures Program will run from 4 to 7:30 p.m. each day from July 7-10. For more information, call (253) 944-4176.

Salmon Bake

The Federal Way Kiwanis annual Salmon Bake will run 4 to 8 p.m. July 25 at Steel Lake Park, 2410 S. 312th St. The annual event includes plenty of food, local vendors and live music.
