Rotary welcomes new neighbor with Super Bowl party

The Rotary Club of Federal Way rolled out a Super Bowl party with pizza and all the trimmings for 40 of the residents at the Multi-Service Center’s William J. Wood Veteran House, Super Bowl Sunday. The formerly homeless veterans now living at the housing facility were served by eight Federal Way Rotarians, several MSC staff and family members for a delicious afternoon of food and surprise in the Rotary Conference Room. Two local vendors, Pizza Hut and Papa John’s, supported this effort by matching the Rotary Club’s pizza purchases with equal numbers of additional pizzas. Several of the Rotary volunteers are veterans and declared this pizza party was an example of “giving back to our community here in Federal Way.” Pictured: Federal Way Rotarians Byron Hiller, left, and Dale Peterson, set up the pizzas for the Super Bowl party for veterans at the William J. Wood Veteran House in Federal Way, Sunday. Veterans and Rotarians enjoyed 12 pizzas, half of which were donated, as well as nachos, popcorn, brownies and soft drinks at the event. Contributed photo
