Reach Out hosting annual award breakfast

Courtesy Reach Out

Reach Out’s seventh annual fundraising breakfast will be taking place from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Christian Faith Service, 33645 20th Ave. S, Federal Way. Doug Johnson will be honored as the Pay it Forward award recipient for a lifetime of supporting the less fortunate in the Federal Way community. Reach Out, a program of Catholic Community Services of Western Washington, is hosting this year’s fundraiser to offset operation costs for the six-month shelter program. All proceeds from the breakfast will be used to provide intake and screening of potential clients, overnight supervision and case management for homeless adults as they strive to obtain permanent housing and become self-sufficient. Becky Vinson, this year’s featured speaker, will also share her story on overcoming homelessness, and of a man she sheltered, and later adopted. To register for this event visit reachoutfederalway.org.
