Free document shredding at Federal Way Family Green Fest May 31

The city’s annual Family Green Fest is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday May 31 at the Federal Way Community Center.

The city’s annual Family Green Fest is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday May 31 at the Federal Way Community Center.

Federal Way residents are invited to attend and can take advantage of free document shredding, discounted energy-efficient light bulbs, along with a variety of activities for younger children to participate in.

According to the city, the light bulb kits will be available for $10 and $20, when they usually cost $90 and $135, respectively.

Information and demonstrations will be held by more than 20 community groups and organizations, including Blue Sky Services, Cedar Grove Composting, city of Federal Way, Community Gardens, Earthdance Organics, Fair Tradin’, Garden Hotline, Holistic Moms Network, King County Dirt Alert, King County Libraries, Lakehave Utility District, Local Hazardous Waste Management Program, Puget Sound Energy, TechniArt, Terra Organics, Waste Management, Woodstone Credit Union and others.
