Federal Way Cares for Kids helps students have merry Christmas with holiday drive

Non-profit organization helped 275 registered families in school district

Students and their families in the Federal Way school district received Christmas presents and enjoyed holiday-themed arts and crafts and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the third annual Federal Way Cares For Kids holiday gift-giving drive Saturday at Lakota Middle School. Volunteers from a number of community organizations and agencies, including Grace Church, South King Fire & Rescue and the Federal Way Police Department, were on hand to wrap presents and make sure the children and their families enjoyed some holiday fun. This year, event organizers hoped to help about 275 families registered from all schools in the Federal Way school district receive support. Approximately 1,000 children attended Saturday’s event.
