Free movies and concerts in Federal Way this summer

The Summer Sounds Concerts and the Outdoor Cinema Series begins in mid-July and runs through August.

This year's performances range from classic rock to Shakespearean plays, and family films will be the main attraction at the cinema series.

Concerts take place each Wednesday, and the films will be shown on Fridays.

The events are scheduled to take place at Steel Lake Park, 2410 S. 312th St., Federal Way. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will take place at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S. 333rd St.

• Raucus (classic rock), 7-8 p.m. July 15

• Wooden O Theatre Company (Shakespearean plays), 7-8 p.m. July 22

• Deems Tsutakawa (smooth jazz), 7-8 p.m. July 29

• TBA (children's), 7-8 p.m. Aug. 5

• Woodrush (alternative-Americana rock), 7-8 p.m. Aug. 12

• The Rangers (country), 7-8 p.m. Aug. 19

Movies

• "Bee Movie," 9:40 p.m. July 18

• "Alvin and the Chipmunks," 9:25 p.m. Aug. 1

• "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium," 8:55 p.m. Aug. 15

• "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29
