Centerstage Theatre fans will have to wait a bit longer for the premiere of "Contact."

The production, originally slated to open May 9, has been pushed back to open the 2009-2010 season, opening on Sept. 25.

Centerstage was recently awarded the management of Knutzen Family Theatre. The company wants to move into the facility before opening the show.

Centerstage said in a news release that reasons for postponement were twofold: Focusing on Knutzen transition without overextending themselves and saving money. By postponing the show until the fall, when Centerstage manages the theater, the company will save about $10,000.

All season and single tickets already purchased for the May production will be good for the September shows.
