Steel Lake series goes country

Johnthan Harris, a country music singer from Tacoma with some national credits, will perform next Wednesday at Steel Lake Park in the Summer Sounds at the Beach outdoor concert series.

Harris has been touring the Pacific Northwest with his five-piece band since 1997. He has opened for national artists including Merle Haggard, the Charlie Daniels Band, Jo Dee Messina, Sammy Kershaw and Trick Pony. He performed for President Bush last year.

Wednesday's show will start at 7 p.m. and, if there's rain, will move indoors at Klahanee Lake Community Center (33901 Ninth Ave. S.). The weekly concerts are presented by the city of Federal Way.
