“The Fantasticks,” a timeless fable of young lovers, will be presented by Centerstage Theatre in Federal Way in November.

Memorable songs such as “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” are part of the Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt musical about a romantic, idealistic girl and an innocent young man. Their fathers want their children to marry and think that if they say “no” to the relationship, the kids will do the opposite.

JK Ross is the director and Penny Cramer is the music director of the Centerstage production that will open Nov. 7. The cast includes Deanna Breiwick, James Scheider, John Armstrong, Jim Burbidge, Krystle Armstrong, Jeb Marshall, Joseph Paolino and Steven Tarry.

Three shows a week are planned Nov. 7 through 30, at Knutzen Theater, located at 3200 SW. Dash Point Road. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays. A preview performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Nov. 6, with tickets discounted to $12. For the rest of the shows, tickets are $20 for general admission, $16 for seniors and military members, and $12 for children under 12.

For the Nov. 7 and 30 shows, anyone under 25 will get in for $10.

Ticket orders and other information are available from Centerstage at 661-1444.
