Drummer Clarence Acox, who has performed with jazz musicians Dianne Schurr, Ernestine Anderson and the late Blily Eckstine, will entertain along with his quartet during Village Green Retirement Campus' fifth anniversary celebration Aug. 24. Acox also is director of the jazz band at Garfield High School in Seattle. The band finished second in this year's national high school jazz competition in New York City. Besides music, the Village Greens event (1 to 4 p.m.) will feature food and a display of classic cars. Organizers ask that visitors RSVP by Aug. 19.
