'Green' rock coming to lake

By JANICA LOCKHART

Staff writer

Little Green Men are taking over the stage at Steel Lake Park for the city of Federal Way’s summer concert series.

The rock band’s performance at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday is free and open to all ages.

The Olympia band, begun six years ago by lead singer Pam Webberly, has changed a few musicians since then. Current members include Webberly, bass player Bruce Whitcomb, drummer Pat Mehan and lead guitarist Mark Mauer.

Webberly said she writes most of the group’s lyrics and has been singing since she was little.

In high school, she bought a guitar and began writing her own music and lyrics. She said her music tells stories and she hopes the audience at Steel Lake can hear them when Little Green Men perform.

Webberly describes her music as edgy, melodic rock. She said she enjoys connecting with audience when she performs.

This is very theraputic for her and she writes about things that bother her, getting all of her problems out with music, she said.

Little Green Men have performed at local bars and hope to get more of a fan base when they perform all over the Northwest this summer.

More information on Little Green Men and and lyrics of their songs are available on-line at littlegreenmen.tv.
