New chef at Dumas Bay offers a holiday special meal
December 7, 2012 · Updated 11:58 AM
From staff reports:
Dumas Bay Centre’s new chef, Ben Vahdati, will present two five-course meals on Friday, Dec. 14. and Saturday, Dec. 15, as a way of introducing himself to the community. Federal Way residents will be eligible for a special rate of $40 per person for the meals, and reservations can be made by calling (253) 835-2000 before Dec. 11.
On the menu for both evenings will be Dungeness crab cakes, apple salad, a choice of roast duck ala orange, or pepper steak New York. Dessert will include sorbet and/or apple crisp.
Vahdati joined Dumas Bay in October, after spending 30 years in the private sector. He hopes he’s able to bring more awareness to Federal Way’s hidden gem of Dumas Bay Centre.
“We have such a nice facility with spectacular views of Puget Sound. This is an opportunity for the public to have a nice meal and enjoy that view,” Vahdati said.
The dinners will be served at 6 p.m. both evenings, and diners will have the option to see the 8:30 p.m. showing of Centerstage’s “Sister’s Christmas Catechism” at the Knutzen Family Theatre, 3200 SW Dash Point Road. Those interested in seeing the show must purchase tickets separately at centerstagetheatre.com or by calling (253) 661-1444.
