The Federal Way Lions will host its 8th Annual Scholarship Car Show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 18 at The Commons Mall parking lot near Sears.

More than 100 classic vehicles will be on display. The public is invited to judge the People's Choice Award and donate non-perishable food items for the local food bank. The Federal Way Kiwanis will provide breakfast (coffee and doughnuts) in the morning and onion burgers and hotdogs in the afternoon.

Raffle items will be available. The free annual event raises money for scholarships that go to local high school students. The 2011 car show raised more than $9,000. A 1952 Chevy pickup truck, owned by Andy Ochoa of Ferndale, won the 2011 Best of Show and Lions Choice awards. A 1958 BMW Isetta, owned by Jake Jacobs, won the People's Choice Award.
