Mirror staff reports:

Family Safety Day is July 21 at the Federal Way Farmers Market, featuring police and local firefighters.

The event includes all the different vehicles that the police use, along with K-9 demonstrations. South King Fire and Rescue will bring its two-story “burn house” to demonstrate how to get out of a burning building safely.

Also available Saturday are child ID kits, fitted helmets and karate demonstrations.

The Federal Way Farmers Market runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays at the Commons Mall’s southwest corner parking lot (near South 324th Street and Pacific Highway South). Visit federalwayfarmersmarket.com.

The market is also hosting a 5K Charity Health Run on Aug. 11. Free fitness conditioning available at the market.  All proceeds will stay local to benefit USO Puget Sound, Boys and Girls Club, World Vision and the market. Call (253) 261-8157.
