Federal Way Symphony season premiere features Ukrainian violinist

Symphony season premiere: The Federal Way Symphony presents their season premiere, "The Brilliance of the Classical Era." It will feature Ukrainian violinist Sergey Suhobrusov, who will join the symphony in playing Beethoven's "Violin Concerto." The event starts at 2 p.m. Oct. 3 at St. Luke's, 515 S. 312th. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for seniors (65 and up). Students 18 and under admitted free. For tickets call (253) 529-9857 or visit www.federalwaysymphony.org. Watercolors: Local artist Stephanie Twigg will be showing her watercolors at Dumas Bay from Oct. 6 through Jan. 5 at the the Dumas Bay Centre's Knuzten Family Theatre, 3200 SW Dash Point Rd. Her artwork includes scenes from the Northwest, the Southwest, Mexico and New England.
Gala: The 4th Annual Federal Way Symphony Fall Gala Auction and Dinner is celebrating the symphony's 50-year history and the 30 years under Maestro A. Brian Davenport. The event take place on Oct. 16 at the Twin Lakes Country Club. Cost is $80 per person. There will be a gourmet dinner and auction items include seaside vacations, wine and chocolate tastings in Leavenworth, tickets to Seahawks games, dinners and more.
