Community Food and Toy Drive: Donate at local fire stations
November 23, 2009 · 12:06 PM
The annual Community Food and Toy Drive for Des Moines and Federal Way kicked off Nov. 21. The event, headed by South King Fire and Rescue, will run until Dec. 18. Citizens may drop off any donations of canned food or dry goods or new unwrapped toys (no stuffed animals) at any SKFR station. Donations of cash, or checks made out to the “Community Food and Toy Drive,” will also be collected. Delivery of food and toys is set for Dec. 22.
In 2008, the annual Community Food and Toy Drive provided a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and a week’s supply of food to 130 families, and presents for 451 children.
