On May 14, members of the Federal Way AmeriCorps, Home Depot, Kaboom, Habitat for Humanity and the community spent all day building a playground for the Westway Community Center at 33400 21st Ave. S. in Federal Way.

The playground was funded through a $61,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation along with a $7,500 contribution from the community. The effort included public figures such as First Gentleman Mike Gregoire and State Sen. Tracey Eide.
