Eugene Montgomery takes Federal Way students on a train ride to Portland every year in May as part of his Montgomery KOSS (Keep Our Schools Safe) award program.

The award — a train ride, goody bag, book, trophy and T-shirt — is given to children who take a pledge to stay out of trouble. On May 12, he took students from Mark Twain Elementary and Sunnycrest Elementary.
