Austin Miller completed his Eagle Scout project last December.

He created a container to help collect bottle caps (which are not recyclable) at the Marine Science and Technology Center (MaST) in Redondo.

Every year countless birds, mammals and sea turtles die from ingesting caps and other plastic debris. Even in a landfill, a plastic bottle cap can pose a threat to scavenging birds and land animals. Learn more at http://mast.highline.edu/bottlecaps.php.
