Thomas Jefferson High School formed a new FIRST robotics team. The team, pictured above, recently attended a season kick-off event at Auburn High School. They are about to embark on building a robot to compete at the Seattle Regional Event in March, according to Shawn Timulak, physics teacher at TJ.

"Basically we have assembled a team of professional engineers to mentor the team in designing a robot that will compete with and against other teams in the region at the Seattle Regional FRC competition at Century Link Field Event center in March," Timulak wrote to The Mirror. "The 'game' is new each year and this year teams score points by shooting frisbees into goals or climbing a tower."
