School supply drive runs through Aug. 24

Each of the eight South King Fire and Rescue stations, along with Grace Church (1232 SW Dash Point Rd.) and Lifeway Church (5015 SW Dash Point Rd.), are collecting school supplies through Aug. 24 to benefit students in Federal Way's 23 elementary schools.

The list of supplies can be found online at www.gcfw.org. Every donation goes directly to help children in need. Needed supplies include:

• plain pocket folders

• white glue

• pencils

• crayons

• scissors (Fiskar children's scissors)

• pink erasers

• markers

• glue sticks

• composition books

• yellow highlighters

• colored pencils

• wide-ruled spiral notebooks

• wide-ruled notebook paper

School beautification: South King Fire and Rescue and Grace Church are teaming up from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 25 to beautify the campuses of Green Gables Elementary School and Illahee Middle School. Volunteers are needed to pull weeds, paint, move bark and more. Sign up at www.gcfw.org.
