Communities In Schools teams with Groupon for backpacks

Communities In Schools of Federal Way and Groupon Grassroots (grassroots.groupon.com), the philanthropic arm of Groupon, announced the launch of a local campaign to purchase backpacks and school supplies for low-income students in Federal Way.

The Backpack for Students campaign will be available on the Federal Way Groupon Grassroots page through Aug. 7.

Groupon subscribers can pledge support for the Backpacks for Students initiative in increments of $10 with each $50 providing a backpack full of school supplies and other necessities to a student in Federal Way Public Schools.

Communities In Schools is the only dropout prevention organization proven to increase the graduation rate for at-risk students. Visit www.cisfederalway.org to learn more about CIS.
