TJ's Emergency Response team sweeps competition

The Thomas Jefferson Emergency Response Club recently attended the State Skills USA Competition, and cleaned house, taking the top 11 spots in the competitions in the First Aid-CPR competition.

"The judges said they were absolutely amazed at the skill level of the team and invited several members to come test with their fire departments," said instructor Monica Watchie.

Watchie noted the club's gold medalist, Darius Harris, will be attending the national competition in Kansas City, Missouri, from June 23-27. The other members of the TJ's club that placed are: Sydney Romero, silver medal; Katherine Manning, bronze medal; Saul Llamas-Flores, 4th place; Keleian Hicks, 5th place; Kyle Williams, 6th place; Cierra Marsh-Camp, 7th place; Kent Campbell, 8th place; Blake La Freniere, 9th place; Carlos Peralta, 10th place; Thuy-Anh Nguyen, 11th place.
