Federal Way Mission Church spreads $23,000

Federal Way Mission Church recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to seven local students:
Jun H. Kim, Western Washington University, studying physical therapy; Angela Lee, University of Washington, marketing; Sae Lee, Highline Community College, pre-pharmacy; Yae C. Suh, University of Washington, mechanical engineering; Jin S. Jung, University of California Berkeley, researcher; Ok J. Mah, University of Washington, pre-law; Ji Ae Byun, University of Washington, pharmacy.
The church’s outreach committee raised $23,000 to go toward human service programs in Federal Way. The committee, which put more than 90 hours in service toward the Federal Way Food Bank, also assists low-income senior citizens and recent Korean immigrants with the basics of functioning in society.
Assistance includes everything from citizenship applications to helping non-English-speaking immigrants get a driver’s license or register to vote. Outreach committee members are Yong P. Choi, Hyun S. Lee, Myung W. Choi, Jae J. Byun, Byung Y. Jung and Woody Ahn.
