Volunteers from Lowe's and community spruce up Sherwood Forest Elementary | Slideshow

Nearly a dozen employees from Lowe’s Home Improvement in Federal Way painted four portable classrooms at Sherwood Forest Elementary School.

The Aug. 25 project was part of an annual grant the store awards to a local school. Meanwhile, several parents and kids volunteered for a campus cleanup at Sherwood Forest.

“It’s just such a generous outreach to the community,” said Principal Barbara Bergman, noting that teacher Chris Lezcano applied for the grant.
