Federal Way LDS church honors seven local teachers

Seven local school teachers were honored May 11 at the tenth annual Teacher Appreciation Night sponsored by the Federal Way stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The educators were recognized as outstanding teachers who made a difference in their students’ lives. Honorees were:
• Scott Haines, Federal Way School District health coordinator and dean of students at Sequoyah Middle School
• Kent Nevin, physical education/psychology teacher and head football coach at Fife High School;
• Angie Gillman, language arts teacher at Kilo Middle School;
• Diya Bailey, the advanced placement social studies, AVID coordinator and Business and Industry Academy Leader from Todd Beamer High School;
• Teri Galloway, physical education department chair and head cross country coach at Decatur High School.
• Todd Soper, social studies and world languages teacher from Thomas Jefferson High School;
• Tom Walworth, orchestra director at Thomas Jefferson High School and Lakota Middle School.
