Rotary collects thousands of books

FW Rotary book drive

The Federal Way Rotary Club, with special thanks to Foundation House’s Volunteer Librarian Chuck Reintsma for all their generous donations, held a book drive this month. On April 2, 118 Rotarian volunteers from 25 clubs and three Interact clubs in District 5030 filled 728 boxes with books. There were easily more than 20,000 books in these boxes, according to the Federal Way club. The boxes filled about 30 pallets with books that will be flown from Washington to Texas and then onward to Africa. These books will go to schools, libraries, retirement homes and community centers across southern Africa. To learn more, call (253) 839-5538.
