Federal Way man earns Governor's Volunteer Service Award

Gov. Chris Gregoire and the Washington Commission for National and Community Service announced the 2011 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award winners.

Federal Way resident Dick Mayer will be recognized at a ceremony April 11 at the Executive Mansion in Olympia. Monda Holsinger at the Washington Service Corps-Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps program submitted Mayer’s name as a finalist in a selection process conducted by the AmeriCorps state program. Mayer is the Good Works Coordinator with Wal-Mart and is also a member of the Federal Way Lions and Kiwanis.
