Total Wine, a national chain of wine “superstores” that dubs itself the “country’s largest independent retailer of fine wine,” celebrated its grand opening in Federal Way on Thursday.

Total Wine, a national chain of wine “superstores” that dubs itself the “country’s largest independent retailer of fine wine,” celebrated its grand opening in Federal Way on Thursday.

During the celebration, Total Wine donated $10,000 to the Multi-Service Center (MSC) as company officials announced the organization as its local non-profit partner. MSC board member Dennis Hulse accepted the check on behalf of the organization.

Federal Way City Councilmember Kelly Maloney was in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The grand opening also featured the Wagner Family of Caymus Vineyards, live music, tastings and giveaways.

Total Wine is located at the Celebration Shopping Center, 32905 Pacific Highway S.

The store’s management team will include Nick Frajio, store manager, Daniel Cox, assistant store manager, and Katie McAdam, wine manager.

According to information provided by Total Wine, Frajio is a “recent arrival to the Seattle area” who’s been with Total Wine since 2005, when he began working in the company’s Laurel, Md. store. Frajio “looks forward to celebrating” his passion for wine “with the patrons and employees in Federal Way.”
