The Greater Federal Way Chamber will kick off its Community-Tie Off series with a presentation by Rear Admiral Richard T. Gromlich, commander, Coast Guard 13th District, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Jan. 27 at the Courtyard Marriott, 31910 Gateway Center.

“Community Tie-Off is a new Chamber series,” explained CEO Rebecca Martin. “The breakfast briefings feature informal presentations from senior military on the impact of the uniformed services, which are providing security and economic vitality to our region.”

Gromlich is responsible for all Coast Guard operations throughout the Pacific Northwest, which include protecting life and property, enforcing federal laws and treaties, preserving the living marine resources and promoting national security.

Headquartered in Seattle, the 13th District includes the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana and encompasses more than 4,400 miles of coastline and 600 miles of inland waterways.

As part of the series kick-off, the Chamber invites community members to pre-register online at the discounted member rate. The cost to attend the breakfast (members and non-members) is $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
