Katie Kuciemba, who is from Federal Way, has joined the Sound Cities Association as a senior policy analyst. The association represents 36 cities in King County and provides a regional voice for nearly 1 million people.

“Katie’s passion for transportation and work at the local, state and federal levels of government will tremendously benefit our member cities,” said Deanna Dawson, Sound Cities Association executive director. “In her new position, she will head up our policy team and will staff transportation committees, as well as other Sound Cities Association regional policy committees.”

Kuciemba previously worked for Sound Transit, where she managed the outreach process for a $3.6 billion dollar extension of light rail in the Puget Sound region.

She has also worked at Snohomish County managing state and federal government relations, where she was responsible for public policy development and implementation. Katie has served as staff for Congressman Adam Smith (Congressional District 9), Seattle Mayor Gregory J. Nickels, and State Senator Jeralita Costa (38th Legislative District).

She received her bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from the University of Washington and her master’s degree in political management and legislative affairs from The George Washington University.
