Foundation House purchased by Illinois firm

An Illinois company with similar operations in 32 states has acquired the Foundation House senior living community in Federal Way.

FW Operations, the previous operator of the facility, said the new owner will be Brookdale Senior Living Inc.

Officials said there no major changes for residents or staff are planned.

“It is the desire of both parties to ensure that the transition of ownership occurs smoothly and successfully,” Brookdale said in a formal statement. The company said that it wants “to keep the current management team in place adn retain substantially all employees so that every resident will continue to be served by familiar faces.”

Brookdale, which was founded in 1986, is based in Chicago. The company has more than 10,000 employees at its 381 facilities, which have a combined 30,000 living units.

The company is publicly traded.
