Borders moving but staying in town

The Mirror

Borders Books is planning to relocate from SeaTac Village to The Commons at Federal Way –– a short move, since the locations are directly across the street from each other on South 320th Street.

Details about the relocation haven't been announced, but it reportedly will take place in March or April.

Borders is one of two major tenants vacating SeaTac Village soon. Old Navy will close its store there at the end of January. Leases with possible tenants to replace them are being negotiated, according to Harsch Investment Properties, a Portland, Ore. firm that bought SeaTac Village in 2004.

Harsch also owns two other prominent shopping centers in Federal Way –– Pavilion II Centre and Ross Plaza, both fronting Pacific. The Mirror, with its news and business office, is a tenant at Ross Plaza, which is being remodeled.
