Tourism grants up for grabs

The city of Federal Way is accepting applications from non-profit groups or municipal organizations for a piece of the $30,000 available in spring 2005 tourism enhancement grants.

The application deadline is March 31. Grants will be awarded in June. Any money not awarded will be made available again in the fall, officials said.

Applicants must plan, sponsor or host amateur sports, arts or cultural events, membership meetings, training seminars, conferences or any other event that would bring people from outside the region into Federal Way. The events must also happen here.
