Sherry Mitchell has been appointed to DeVry University-Federal Way’s new position of chairwoman of general education and faculty trainer, and Chrissy De Lima has been promoted to assistant registrar.

Mitchell will maintain course curriculum, conduct class visitations and faculty training, review course evaluations and prepare teaching assignments.

She has taught at Washington State University and Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She joined DeVry in 2001.

De Lima, whose duties include helping maintain students’ academic records, has been with DeVry since last May. She previously worked in customer service in the insurance field.

Connected Technologies, a Federal Way-based supplier of communications hardware and carrier services, has hired several new employees:

• Tamra Grimes, project manager. She previously was with Expanets in Kentfor 19 years as a technical specialist in software for phone systems. She lives in Federal Way.

• Michael Rose, data engineer. He formerly was senior data engineer and convergence project manager for Telecom Labs in Seattle. He lives in Bellevue.

• Kim Voelker, project engineer. He has held various positions with GTE, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and NetVersant Solutions. He lives in Duvall.

Heather Bresser, whose area includes south King County, has joined Mary Kay as an independent beauty consultant.

Life Care Centers of America has named Vicki Weddle as vice president for the company’s Cascades region, where she is responsible for six facilities in Washington, including Federal Way.

Weddle, who has a degree in psychology and social work, 10 years as a welfare field representative for the state of Colorado. She also is a former vice president of a commercial photography company.

Windermere Real Estate’s Federal Way office has added Justin Sanner and Kimberly Jones to its staff of sales associates.

Sanner previously worked in outside sales for Overall Services in Tacoma.

Jones is a former community sales manager for Centex Homes. She also has more than 10 years of experience in mortgage lending.
