Mall playing guess new name game

SeaTac Mall wants people to guess its new name in a contest.

The mall’s new owners, Steadfast Commercial Properties, which bought the Federal Way indoor shopping center earlier this year, is renovating parts of it. Steadfast also wants to officially change the mall’s name next January.

Four “tips” about the new moniker are being posted weekly throughout the mall and at the customer service center, officials said.

Shoppers who guess the correct name on a contest entry form (available at the customer service center) will be entered to win a $1,500 shopping spree at Zales, Foot Action and Suncoast Video.

The contest begins today and will continue through Nov. 15. The winner will be announced Nov. 20, mall officials said.

Also scheduled today and tomorrow at the mall is the Women’s Expo, produced by Century Expo.

The three-day event, which began yesterday and is open to the public, features exhibits of products and services for women, including music, massage, modeling, talent agencies, home improvement and jewelry.

Mall hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
