A real estate partnership has decided against purchasing SeaTac Mall.

ޓItޒs the way these things go,ޔ mall marketing manager Eric Mattison said. ޓThey start being interested, they look at it and it doesnޒt pencil out. It doesnޒt work.ޔ

GDA Real Estate Services expressed an interest in buying the mall earlier this summer, but Mattison said GDA specializes in open-air centers and warehouse-type buildings. The entirely enclosed SeaTac Mall would have been ޓa new venture for them,ޔ he said.

GDA is a Denver, Colo.-based company with ownership ties to several properties in the Puget Sound region, including the Everett Mall Plaza, the Willows 24 office building in Redmond, the First West Building in Lower Queen Anne, the Transnation Building in Bellevue and IntracorpŽ’s headquarters building in Belltown.

GDA owns about 40 shopping centers in several western states.Mattison said there still are several other parties interested in buying the mall.

ޓWeޒre kind of still hanging right now,ޔ he said.
