Mirror staff reports:

Hobby Lobby Stores, a privately held national retail chain of arts and crafts stores, announced it has signed a lease to open a store in Federal Way.

Construction is under way on a 57,700-square-foot retail facility, formerly occupied by Joe’s Sporting Goods, located at Enchanted Parkway South and South 348th Street off I-5 in the West Campus Square shopping center.

Hobby Lobby’s sixth store in Washington is projected to open in the spring of 2013. The store will bring between 35 and 50 jobs to the community, paying $13 per hour for full-time employees and $9 per hour for part-time employees.

Store departments include floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, arts and crafts, and jewelry, scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies. Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Okla., and has more than 520 stores across the nation. Visit hobbylobby.com.
