FW Chamber honors 2010 Volunteer of the Year

Jon McIntosh, pastor at Grace Church, was named the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce’s Volunteer of the Year in a small reception Dec. 8 at CTM Granite.

McIntosh was honored for his efforts in the Advancing Leadership program. The annual award celebrates and recognizes all the people who contribute to the success of the Federal Way Chamber and its affiliated programs: Advancing Leadership, Communities in Schools of Federal Way, Safe City Federal Way and the South Sound Regional Business Incubator.

The nominees for this year's award are Pete Gonzales, who works at Pyramid Engineering; Dini Duclos, CEO of the Multi-Service Center and Federal Way’s deputy mayor; Jim Strehlow of James Strehlow Consulting; Rudi Alcott, publisher of The Mirror; Shirley Lorenz, Federal Way police volunteer; Jon McIntosh, pastor at Grace Church.

Past winners of the volunteer of the year award include Merle Pfeifer of Sparks Car Care in 2009; Ed Streit, owner of Ed Streit Images, in 2008; and Bob Wroblewski, an active community volunteer, in 2007.
